Silambam Houston Dance Company

Grab the chance to attend an Indian Classical Dance Performance! An evening of quality and thought-provoking Indian Classical Dance by two Texas-based dance companies. Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 4PM at the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts Theater – San Jacinto College South Campus, 13735 Beamer Road, Houston TX, 77089, Silambam Houston Dance Company (Houston, TX) presents Shambhavam: Dance of the Cosmos – a 30-minute Indian Classical Dance experience that explores the concepts of Shiva, Natya (dance), and Laya (rhythm). Indique Dance Company (Dallas, TX) presents Yatra: Discovery through Journey. This production explores the experiences that shape individuals through the various journeys of life. The dancers will perform an ancient Indian dance form called Bharatanatyam. Bharatanatyam originated in the temples of India two thousand years ago and it is marked by intricate rhythmic patterns, beautiful hand gestures, sculpturesque movements, and stylized facial expressions, that all come together to communicate a thought, story, or concept to the audience. Open Call for Artists Arts Collaboration

ARTIST PROFILE PROJECT is a collaborative high-definition DVD and broadcast series featuring Houston artists. The mission is to provide an opportunity for artists, of all types, to share their work and build lasting, supportive relationships. The profiles will provide a glimpse into the creative processes and unique work of the artists.

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: Artists, artisans, studios and cultural arts related organizations in Houston, Texas.

ARTIST PROFILE PROJECT is a collaboration committed to bring attention to Houston area artists.

THE DETAILS:

FEE: $150 – Individual artist, studio or arts organization. The fee includes:

A broadcast airing of the profile

A digital .mov file (we email this after the edit and once the airing is scheduled)

The actual profile high-definition interview covering your work and images captured that depict your work

Schedule of the cable airing information (channel, dates and approximate times)

After booking the profile, we will provide you with steps to prepare for the interview.

Contemporary Circus

Cirque La Vie will perform at ExhibItlia 2014 – George Brown Convention Center, Houston, on Saturday , April 5, 2014 at 5.30pm & on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2pm. With a contemporary approach into the world of circus arts and dance, Cirque La Vie takes the audience on a mysterious journey of the human body and strong apparatuses, where one cannot work without the other.
Cirque La Vie is a by-invitation only company and unity of artist on film, photography and stage. Each Moment is an open window to the heart and soul of each artist creating works of art that some people have called crazy, others imaginative and some left speechless, Cirque La Vie is quickly becoming a known name and respected company. Cirque La Vie  has been seen in Americas Got Talent, With Out A Net Film Premiere and have been awarded audience favorite at the Houston Fringe Festival on 2010 and 2013. Living by its motto ” Dare To Be Different.” Cirque La Vie brings a breath of fresh air every time they set foot on a stage living audiences both moved and inspired.​

Boost the Arts was founded in November 2013 by Doriana Pappacena- Rossi.  After gaining several years of professional experience organizing arts and culture events in France, Doriana moved to Houston, Texas, USA in August 2012. She discovered a land eager for culture.

ExhibItalia 2014 – Houston

Boost the Arts will participate at ExhibItalia , the “made-in -Italy” exhibition which will take place on April 5th -6th 2014  at the George Brown Convention Center, Houston.

ExhibItalia brings more than 100 Italian companies and manufacturers — food and wine, arts and crafts, fashion and accessories, design and technology, culture and tourism — to Houston. The two-day exhibition will offer numerous programs and events throughout each day. Entertainment, shopping, fashion shows, musical and arts performances, car exhibits, a kid’s zone and restaurants add to the overall experience in the trade show.
